Washing Hair

I have asked several stylists about the differences between Japanese hair and Singaporean hair, and what I have been told is that Japanese tend to have thicker and larger amounts of hair, while Singaporeans have thin and fine hair. Which I gotta admit is pretty true. For any of you who have been to Tokyo, you may have noticed almost everyone on the streets have a full head of thick hair. Which is the envy of many of us with flat, thin, fine hair.

I stumbled upon this video called ‘髪様のシャンプー’, if I were to translate this, its ‘The great hair shampoo’. But there is a pun implied here as 髪 (hair) and 神(god) are both pronounced as かみ kami. I will leave the video here if any of you are interested

The video emphasized very heavily on the importance of blood circulation and oxygen which stimulates hair growth.
Just like any parts of our body, proper blood circulation is very important.

A very common barrier to proper blood circulation is stress, which all of us face almost on a daily basis. When we get stressed, blood flow increases but blood vessels are constricted. When your hair does not get enough oxygen and blood flow, New hair growth is restricted. So, I will not ask everyone to do the impossible of not being stressed, but rather there are head massages we can do to improve blood circulation to the head.

So normally when we shampoo our hair, I assume almost everyone just rubs shampoo into your head randomly and after all the foam is created, we just rinse it all off?

The proper way to do it is to use your finger tips and apply some pressure while washing your head. Wash your head in small thorough repeatative movements.
