First things first, before getting your hair dyed by yourself or whoever, its no secret that changing your hair colour requires you to invest in time and money. You may have to return to the salon now and then for you to have beautiful hair and to maintain the colour. You’ll also have to switch out your shampoo and conditioner to a new one for maintaining coloured hair. If the colour you want requires youto bleach your hair, please take note of how many times you have to bleach to get the desired hair colour. The lighter the shade = more bleaching rounds. I dont recommend bleaching your hair twice in a day, give your hair and scalp a break and continue the proccess 2 days later. You dont have to worry bout the bleaching process if youre doing it in a salon. If frequent visits to the salon doesnt sound appealing to you, you may want to opt for low maintanence hair colouring styles such as ombre, balayage, babylights or highlights. Explaining what you want or having a rough idea might not help you to get the message across to your stylist. Instead, show some pictures of your ideal hair colour to your stylist to help them better understand your expectations.Help them help you Always bare in mind that results may differ based on your hair type and the original colour. Knowing your skin tone is one of the secrets to achieving a look that looks best on you. Most people don’t realise that their skin tone plays a great role in changing their hair colour. When you look at a hair colour on someone, you’ll notice that it looks a certain way due to their skin tone.

Maintaining your hair colour will require proper aftercare along with the use of the right hair products. There are special shampoos or conditioners that caters for colour treated hair. Also, be prepared that your hair texture might change for some of you after bleaching especially if you bleach lots of times.
