Spring is here!

Tis the season of the sakura (cherry blossoms)! The time of the year when everyone gets high and drunk under the sakura trees to enjoy the short-lived full bloom.

Sakura is a symbol of sentiment of an end and joy of a new beginning in Japan. This is because they bloom in March through April, when kids graduate and start anew at their next level of education or start working. Or for the little older people, it is the time of the year when they get new jobs or get posted elsewhere, bidding farewell to fellow comrades and enemies.

Many a places are famous for beautiful views of the sakura such as Ueno Park and many of the castles spread across the country. But one of the best combinations has to be sakura and Mt. Fuji. Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan and has a deep spiritual connection with Japanese people. On a clear day, one can see Mt. Fuji from miles away and chugging down sake under the sakura tree with Mt Fuji in sight is the poshest thing that can ever happen. (I think). Or its as posh as spending gazing the trees in full bloom with a geisha in Kyoto. I dunno. In any case, sakura and Mt. Fuji is pretty badass.

Why not plan a trip to Japan this time next year to experience this Japanese spring awesomeness? Best season ever~
