Hair plopping?!

Okay to be very honest, ive never heard of it just till recently. Hair plopping is actually kind of similar to scrunching the hair. Most people with curly or wavy hair are familiar with the scrunching method but have you heard of hair plopping? Well certainly not me. You can say that its kind of like a heatless curl styling method.

What is hair plopping? It is a styling method to help enhance and maintain the natural shape of your curls. A lot of the times curly and wavy hair have a mind of its own and styling it can be difficult . It gets annoying sometimes. This method is mostly used by people who have type 3a, 3b and 3c curls but those with wavy or curls that are looser can also use this method. The best part about this method is that its damage free! The process of hair plopping actually trains your hair to adopt to its natural shape while nourishing it.

Things youll need:

curl creams
cotton tshirt the bigger the better!

Just two items!!!

Step 1:

Wash your hair like how you usually do but try combing through your hair when applying conditioner. That way, your hair will be tangled free. On damp hair, apply what you usually use for your hair. It can be hair oil, curl defining cream or leave in conditioner or gel. Be careful not to apply too much products to your hair because it’ll make your hair greasy but applying too little can leave your hair feeling dry. Make sure to apply the appropriate amount! SCRUNCHHHHH scrunching your will help shape the curls better once wrapped in the tshirt and to make sure your hair have soaked in the products!

Step 2:

Lay down your cotton tshirt on a flat surface with the collar facing away from you. Bend your hear over and slowly lower your hair onto the middle of the tshirt. Make sure all of your hair is in the center or they will fall out when you wrap the tee on your head.

Step 3:

Pull the sleeves and the collar around the nape of your neck and tie a knot in the middle of your forehead to secure it. Keep your hair plopped for a minimum of 20-30 mins before slowly untying it.

That is all! Always remember to be gentle when opening up the tee and take it slow or you might undo all the effort you put into getting the pretty, soft and defined curls and you obviously dont want that!
