Here are some Dos and Don’ts when using a straightening iron.

1. Do not use a straightening iron on wet hair. Always make sure that it is completely dry.

2. Do not have your straightening iron above 180 degrees celsius. Keep it at 160 degrees celsius, ideally.

3. Do not use wax on your hair before you use a straightening iron.

4. Do not try to iron your hair with bed hair. Wet your hair and dry it before you style it. You want to always start with a pretty base before attempting to style your hair.

5. Do not take thick sections of hair to straighten. If the section of hair is too thick, use a clip or a rubber band to divide the sections. Focus on small sections, one at a time.
