Creep Perm vs Digital Perm

Hello! As I go about my day as a lovely receptionist, I sometimes receive enquires from customers about the kind of perm we would recommend them, and I find myself going to google to fact check before answering them. I was like nooo more googling! And I decided to spend some time today to educate myself about the difference of the perms that Art-noise has to offer.

The following are based on the notes that I’ve written down 🙂

Creep Perm	Digital Perm
Cold Perm	Hot Perm
Recommended for people with average hair thickness	Recommended for people with coarser/ thicker hair
Curls are more defined when hair is wet Curls are looser when hair is dry	Allow more three dimensional curls that last longer
Harder to maintain compared to digital perm	Easier to maintain comapred to creep perm
Curls are smaller compared to digital perm	Curls are more distinct compared to creep perm

I also found out that perming is highly discouraged for customers with bleached, previously rebonded or very damaged hair. This is because the hair may not be able to retain the shape well and that there is a high chance of the curls disappearing quickly.

An average perm will last 2-3 months. Factors can include how well your hair takes in the perm and your own maintenance at home.
