Your hair should be 65% dry before you begin to blow dry with a brush. If you are starting your blow dry the moment you step out of shower, put down your hairdryer, and try towel drying or air drying before you begin to blow dry. This helps to minimize frizz as well as heat damage.
Allowing your hair to dry a bit before you blow dry also helps to reduce the amount of time and work the actual blow drying takes. So, you will not find yourself with sore arms at the end of it.
