styling: for the home

ohayo! rise and shine! we have been going on about styling for hair…how about we take a short break to talk about another form of styling – your home! Air plants have risen in popularity in recent years, as a way to style and add greenery to a home. It is extremely affordable (usually costs less than $5 per plant), and does not need any soil to grow since it gets its nutrients and moisture from the air! This also means no mosquitoes and pests! This is how it looks like!

While most people would just hang them in isolation, some people take it one step further. One example is Daniel Goh, from Singapore, who creates amazing pieces of art using air plants out of his HDB flat! It takes up minimal space to adopt it as a decor to your home, and many species of it are highly resilient. Daniel says that his plants have even lasted two weeks without watering! Look at his amazing corridor and interior!

Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. It is usually a floral display, but Daniel decided to adopt a similar approach to arranging air plants instead. Look at the minimal and contemplative language each of his creation conveys!
