What’s the Trend Hairstyle for this Year?

So what is the hairstyle trend (in Japan) so far this year?

For the past year, people seemed to have pushed themselves back to ”looking natural” and being themselves as they are. With this, many people decided to leave their hair untouched as their natural color (black). Many also chose to color with darker shades of colorings.

For this year, dark colors still seem to hold its popularity. By ‘dark’ colors, we mean the shades that belong in the range 5 – 7 of the haircolor scale.

What may be different for this year is that people are also trying to achieve a sense of “translucence.” This can be obtained by making sure your hair color maintains the gloss, or by highlighting your hair to lighten up the tone a bit.

Here are some examples:

Dark brown with curl-in at the end. Because it is a pretty dark shade of brown, it reflects the light well and maintains the gloss.

This lady has dark grey color. Dark grey especially seem to give the “translucent” look. Highly recommended!
