Tsuya – the Luster and Gloss of Hair

We have a word in Japanese that describes the beautiful luster and gloss of black hair. It is 艶 (ツヤ), which points to the luminous shine and the fluid smoothness of rich hair.

Nowadays many people with dark coloured hair try to dye their hair in a lighter shade. Unfortunately, this brings a lot of damage to hair quality and takes away the gloss that everyone naturally possesses. This is especially the case with dying your hair to light colors, which most of the time greatly diminishes the Tsuya and creates a more frizzy hair.

On the other hand, leaving your hair colour untouched may seem plain. Our salon came up with a compromising suggestion : grey. It may be a little difficult to tell from the image but the grey coloring is rather light yet does well in maintaining the Tsuya. Additionally, we know from experience that dark red colors (as well as purple) do the job of maintaining the luster, but at the same time allow people to enjoy the freedom of playing with hair colors.
