refreshing your hair color at home

ok so we all know bleached hair fades super fast and obviously coming to the hair salon every 3 weeks to refresh your hair color is going to cost you $$$$$$$

so what can you do to maintain your color at home?

there’s color shampoo (which we actually used to sell in purple and pink but i don’t see it anymore on the shelves…?) we used to carry spectrum colors shampoo

if you want something more intense, there’s overtone but you’ll have to ship it to singapore, which is kind of a pain. the pigment is really intense though so that’s good if you just want a one-and-done kind of thing. supposedly you can wash your hair with hot water whiel using overtone products so that’s nice for people who like to boil themselves in the bath

there’s also the most budget way of mixing fashion color dye (e.g. arctic fox, manic panic, la directions etc) with conditioner but i find that it can be hard to control where the color takes, so you might end up with an uneven gradient-type look. the main problem i had with this is that depending on the brand of dye you use, you might have issues bleaching the color out again at the salon

i’m thinking of trying overtone next hmmm
