Why is taking care of your hair so important?

Hi everyone! It’s Samantha again so I’ll be writing posts related to how to handle your hair for today!

It’s really important to take good care of your hair even when you’re not at the salon so that your hair will be able to retain all the good stuff like the nutrients and proteins so this post will serve to convince you to not skip on those basic home care steps 😛

When you constantly protect your hair with home care products, you actually are doing your hair a very big favour because the damages done to your hair would be repaired every time you repeat your home care steps.

So, how should you go about taking care of your hair at home?

Step 1
Before you step into the shower, make sure to give your hair a good brush through to remove any excess dirt (from exposure to the air/outside if you went out) from clogging your hair as well as to help massage your scalp to let the blood flow better. In this case, it’s killing two birds with one stone because your hair and your scalp gets the benefits from just a simple brushing (:

Step 2
Remember to moisten up your hair enough before applying your shampoo. When you’re stepping into the shower, make sure the water is not too hot because the nutrients from the hair (natural ingredients) may be washed away unnecessarily when the water is too hot. Also, do not use more shampoo than needed to wash your hair because your hair would be clean even without overdoing it!

Step 3
When you apply your shampoo, start from the scalp and let the shampoo foam up, while massaging your scalp. When you massage your scalp, you allow for the stubborn dirt particles to be removed. Apparently the impurities and dirt stuck in the scalp area are the hardest to get rid of, so the massage really helps. When you shampoo (foam) your hair from root to end well, it helps with producing the needed nutrients for your hair.

Step 4
Once you are done shampooing your hair, next up would either be the conditioner or the treatment. Make sure you use either of these in order to help protect the nutrients from disappearing too quickly. Conditioning or treating your hair also plays a part in maintaining a set of healthy hair and scalp.

Step 5
Once you are done showering, towel dry your hair properly and as much as possible, use the hair dryer quickly to fully dry your hair. When your hair is wet, the cuticles on the outermost layer is open and that may result in the nutrients from flowing away easier. This is something we want to prevent in order to maintain the healthiness of our hair/scalp. When you blow dry your hair, it will be good to have a top-to-bottom movement so that you have less trouble styling your hair later on.

Final comments
