Types of shampoo

Hello everyone! Samantha here and today I’d like to introduce to you readers the basics of how to choose your shampoo such that it suits your hair type and scalp!

Generally speaking, there are 3 types of shampoos:
1) Amino Acid-based Shampoos
2) Soap-based Shampoos
3) High Alcohol-based Shampoos

For Amino Acid-based shampoos, they specialise in providing your hair with a natural and smooth finish! This kind of shampoo is also highly recommended for people with sensitive scalps or those tackling hair loss because the cleaning power is not too strong. Some people may think that due to the weak cleaning power, it might not be clean enough but fret not! Double-washing with Amino Acid-based shampoos is fine if it’s habitual as the damage that can be done to your hair is really minimal ^^

Soap-based shampoos are as what the name says – the main ingredient has the same formulas as soaps. The main feature of soap-based shampoos would be that the cleaning power is really strong so you might feel like your hair is really flaky/parched right after washing as soap-based shampoos really cleanse out your cuticles, leaving them fully open. In order to get rid of this, you can use an acidic wash to finish off 😀

For high alcohol-based shampoos, it was originally known as petrolum-based shampoo but nowadays they have switched out the ingredients for raw materials from plants, so they decided to rename the shampoo. Such shampoos have self-restoration abilities as well as giving your hair the optimal smoothness such that it isn’t too slippery on top of it having a strong cleaning power. But since the power of this shampoo is pretty strong, it would not be recommended for people with sensitive scalps nor hair loss problems.
