Tips for Dyed Hair

You have just coloured your hair at the salon, and you are loving your fresh new look. Yet, it doesn’t last for long and you wonder why. Well, here are a few tips for keeping your new hair colour as good as new!

Do not wash your hair for 24-48 hours after the colouring session. Your hair cuticles takes time to close fully, and by washing your hair shortly after the colouring session, you run the risk of washing your new colour out.

Wash your hair less, this reduces the colour from fading.

Use the right shampoo. Colour safe shampoos were created for a reason. They use a special formula to protect and keep your hair healthy without washing away your hair colour.

Never forget your conditioner. Coloured hair is more fragile and more prone to breakage, especially if have done bleaching. Use your conditioner to keep your hair moisturised.

Cut back on heat styling. Straighteners, curling irons, and even hairdryers can cause damage to coloured hair. So if you really have to do heat styling, always remember to apply heat protectant beforehand!
