Humidity and Frizziness!

Hey everyone, justin here. Today’s topic is about humidity and how to combat frizziness in your hair. Recently, it has been raining a lot and this means that the humidity in the air is fairly high everyday! So how does humidity cause frizziness? Human hair is actually porous, so it means that it will absorb all the excess moisture that is present in the air. When this happens, the hair will naturally curl as it forms new chemical bonds in the hair. This means that straight hair will start to curl and naturally curly hair will curl even more! If you multiple this effect by every strand on you head, it causes a big frizzy mess that becomes very hard to manage!

So what can you do to keep your hair straight and nice throughout the day and beat the frizz? Here are some methods you can consider:

1) Setting your hair before going out

By setting your hair with styling products with holding power, you can lock the shape of the hair in place. This means that even when you go out and the hair absorbs all the excess moisture, the hair will stay in place and not curl.

2) Rebonding your hair

This is a recommendation for people who find it troublesome to set their hair everyday. Rebonding will keep your hair straight even under humid conditions as the bonds in the hair are restructured to keep the hair straight.
