How long does rebonding take?

We usually get calls from our customers inquiring about the duration of rebonding. Heres an article that explains why it takes so long .

As a hair salon has many types of services, many may not know the duration for rebonding. Typically, the standard duration for hair rebonding is about three hours.

Of course this is inclusive of the time needed for a cut and hair wash. This is a really long process. However, with the stylist’s skills and research on hair straightening chemicals, better chemicals have been developed to reduce the duration for rebonding.

While it may take longer or shorter depending on your hair type, three hours is a good estimate of the duration. A certain duration of time is necessary to ensure that limited damage is caused to the hair.

If you wish to shorten the duration, a stronger hair straightening chemical will be used?

There are many customers who wish for for the rebonding duration to be shortened. However, to reduce the duration, a stronger chemical will have to be used.

When a stronger chemical is used, the duration the chemical has to be applied on the hair will shorten. This does not mean that lesser damage will be done to the hair. In addition, when the hair is straightened with a strong chemical, it will lose its luster.

By reducing the duration needed, it is highly likely that the hair will become damaged and fall apart. It is best to consult with a professional before you request for a faster job, and also give yourself more time for the rebonding process to be completed normally.

Rebonding that can put you at ease

As mentioned earlier, even if you wish for the hair rebonding process to be quickened, it will still take a certain amount of time.
Rebonding is not a short process.
The chemicals used for both rebonding and perming are similar. As such, there is the idea that taking a shorter amount of time to rebond would cause lesser damage.
However, it is necessary to soak the hair in the chemicals for it to be absorbed inside to produce the desired result of straightened hair. This will require at least three hours. To reduce the damage done on the hair, the whole procedure will require time. It is not advisable to shorten the duration for hair rebonding.
