Head Spa

Head spa is a head massage that effectively encourages the health of your scalp and hair, all done at the shampoo area in the hair salon.

Because its benefits meet the needs of our stressful society so well, head spa is also being done at beauty salons and head spa-specialty shops.

While the term “head spa”is a trademark term coined by the Japanese company, Takara Belmont, the technique itself originates from the traditional Indian medicine system of Ayurveda. It mainly aims to cleanse the scalp and mend hair, with massaging techniques as one component of the treatment.

Recently, there have been machines created and sold so customers can enjoy the feeling of the head spa at home. However, as it is difficult to match the massage techniques with one’s own hair and scalp condition, there are many cases where the purchase of the machine goes to waste.

Furthermore, as massages done by machines often damage one’s head area and hair, we do not really recommend doing so. We would recommend the treatment done at hair salons.
