For those of us who bleach and color our hair, we are all too familliar with dryness. Sometimes we run our fingers through our hair and if feels like hay. There are ways to improve the condition but there isnt really a way to restore your hair to its former glory.

Actually, your hair gets damaged, just like your face, hands, and legs. Before it’s too late, I would like to introduce some ways to protect your hair from ultra-violet rays.

Everyday is a big mess, with your hairstyle not going the way you want it to. Dry hair that can’t seem to be styled – this is something many ladies worry about. Even though I make sure to do treatment, and brush your hair everyday, why is my hair still so dry? This is a question that many people ask themselves. Here, I will provide some advice on the reason for your hair drying out, and some measures to improve your hair.

The treatment is not of proper quality, or the method used is wrong.

It seems that there are many people who shampoo and condition their hair, but not treatment. Shampoo only protects the surface of your hair for a period of time with a layer of oil. If you want to deal with the damage to your hair, you would need “treatment,” which supplies the inside of your hair with the necessary nutrients, moisture, and oil content.

The way you use the treatment is also important. Sometimes, you can’t get the desired result if you don’t read the instructions written on the back of the treatment container properly and make sure that you’re using it correctly.

Some treatments contain a ‘coating chemical’ in their ingredients. This may clog your pores and cause hair loss and/or breakage.

Are you using your hairdryer correctly?

When drying your hair, putting heat on the same area for too long can cause your cuticles to peel off easily, and become a cause of damage to your hair. When using a hair dryer, I recommend holding it at a distance, and moving it around, and adjusting the temperature.

What about the way you brush your hair?

A hair brush can pick out the dirt and dust that gets on your hair, and give your scalp a good amount of stimulation to improve blood circulation. However, using your brush in a way that puts too much stress on your scalp, such as using too much strength when untangling your hair, is not good.

Especially in winter, when the air is dry, your hair can be damaged by the static electricity. I recommend changing the type of brush or comb to materials like natural boar fur that deter static electricity depending on use and season.

For those who repeatedly straighten or colour their hair.

Everyday, the techniques used in straightening and colour are advancing. However, this does not mean that “no damage” is done to your hair and scalp. Firstly, the chemicals used in these processes tend to steal precious moisture from your hair and scalp.

Furthermore, the high heat from the “straightening iron” used in the process of straightening can damage your cuticles, and cause it to peel off more easily. If you repeat these processes often, your hair will quickly turn dry.

While it varies across individuals, repeating straightening or colouring often will damage your hair more and more. Please go for these services while seeking advice from professionals, in order to maintain the condition of your hair.
