today keiko and i were talking about hair arrangements! she observed that japanese ladies tend to like very tousled, messy, textured types of arrangements, while singaporeans tend to prefer smooth, neat arrangements. furthermore, japanese women often arrange their hair even on regular days, but singaporean ladies reserve arrangements for special occasions only, which is why we hardly ever get hair arrangement appointments! (and the stylists all talk about how they have kind of fallen out of practice…)
