Which type is suitable for me?

That will depend on a variety of factors, such as the kind of curls you want to achieve (big, fluffy curls, or small ones), the current state of your hair, and any future plans to do other stuff to your hair, among others.

If, for instance, you plan to colour your hair or do other chemical treatments to it in the future, our stylists may recommend using the gentler perm, or tone down the strength of the perm chemicals, to help minimize the damage to your hair.

If you have bleached hair, have rebonded your hair previously, or have very damaged hair, however, perming of hair will be highly discouraged. Structurally weak hair don’t retain shape very well, so there is a very high chance of your curls disappearing within a very short time.

#3: How long will it take, and how long will my curls last?

Generally speaking, we allocate at least 3 hours for full/half head perms.

As for how long your curls will last, it really varies a great deal depending on factors such as how well your hair takes to the perm, your homecare, etc. The average lasting time, if it’ll be of reference value, is generally 2-3 months, though.

#4: Can I color my hair in the same session too?

Like with aqua rebonding, not recommended. Unless you are, say, touching up the colour of your roots and perming the lower half of your hair. Here at Art-Noise, our stylists prioritize maintaining the health of your tresses above all else, so we generally recommend giving at least a week’s break in between to allow your hair some downtime.

#5: Any maintenance tips?

The most basic perm maintenance step our stylists often tell their clients is to dry their hair thoroughly after showering, taking care to twist their hair using their fingers during the drying process. Religious use of mousse, sometimes light gel/wax (both to be applied after drying to curls!), also goes a long way in helping curls better keep their shape.
